I am anxious about going to the dentist because my dentist is verbally abusive?
So what I like about my dentist is that she does a good job and she is efficient. I don't have a long wait time. BUT she is so rude. She always picks on me and how I obviously don't properly floss and brush, and if I make any peeps like I am in pain, she makes more rude comments like I am not allowed to be in pain. I think she must hate people or something or hate her job. IDK, but I went to a new dentist for a while. He was as nice as could be but gave me 6 cavity fillings and a huge bill out of pocket despite the fact that I have insurance, so I decided to go back to her because I didn't want to ever go through that again. So I am anxious about seeing her today. How should I respond to her rudeness? Thankfully, her hygenists are nice! That's the saving grace of her practice...
Should marriage be a religious institution?
I have heard many arguments for gay marriage claiming that marriage is not a religious institution but one controlled by the state. Should this be so? To me, I admire a more "capitalistic" approach. If marriage was a religious institution, I doubt we would have the gay marriage issue we now do. Because it is the state, we have to have laws surrounding the issue, but if it was religious and secular non government institutions that performed marriages, then there would be a chain of supply and demand in a free "marked". If the catholic church does not want to provide gay maraige, it does not have to, and you can just stop by the next chruch that does. Since some religions and some churches or less open minded religions are willing to endores gay marage, the compleet privatization of marage by non government entites such as religous comunites would actually allow for gay marage to take place. What is more, it would keep the fundementalists out of the government, since if marage is not a legal issue then fundementalist do not get to control this as a legal issue. Fundmentalists would have the capacity to make decisons for themselves only, and other people oculd make their own decisions, where as in the curent system fundementalist are influenceing everyone (as shown by the states that have outlawd same sex marriage).

I am currently a junior in high school, so ill be applying to college in the fall. I have a 3.1 gpa, a 24 on my act and a 1700 on my sat. I have been involved in various activitiess such as: president of film club, varsity cheer for 1 year, 100+ volunteer hours, club rugby, and i have had a job all 3 summers. There are a few different schools i really want to go to. I'll put them in order of preference for yuou guys. Just let me know my chances of getting in and your thoughts on these schools.... I'll be a business major, by the way.
