College student trying to buy first car?

I'm still deciding on what my first car should be. At first it was between the Kia Forte and the Ford Focus. After I posted that question I deciding to axe the Kia Forte. Now I'm considering the Hyundai Elantra either 2007 or 2008 model. My question is between the Ford Focus (2008 or 2009) or Hyundai Elantra (2007 or 2008) which one is better on fuel, maintenance and safety?

2004 Kia Rio, is it worth it?

So I'm planning to buy a 2004 Kia Rio. The brakes, oil, and tires have been changed and the miles come out to about 55,000. The dealer is asking for 6,000. Is that reasonable and is it worth it?

What's the song from the new Kia commercial?

The lyrics I heard are: 'take a drive and see for miles and miles' and 'happiness is just around the corner' Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

what happen to 1Malaysia ?????..........?

A friend sent me this post, please read and pray that our people will come to their senses! It Happened to Me, It Could Happen to You! by Lau C.Kin on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 8:14pm The typical Merdeka Eve night started with an urge to watch the fireworks celebration in KLCC ended up in a racist attack by a group of teenagers. So, me and a friend of mine thought of a good solution to avoid the traffic jam in that area by walking from the office in Jalan Imbi through Pavillion, to Jalan Kia Peng through Convention Center to KLCC. Sounds like an ideal plan as the path is a frequent walkway and is even advertised in Pavillion as 'Bridge to KLCC'. (Just to note that we didnt go into any dark alley) At 10.15pm, we started walking towards Pavillion, stopped to get a drink at Starbucks and proceeded ahead. As we walk, we came across people from various races and foreign tourists along the way. On Jalan Kia Peng, we walked past Novotel Hotel, Hakka Restaurant, Menara HLA and was reaching the junction of Jalan Pinang when a group of about 10 teenage Malay youngsters walking from the opposite direction. They looked like typical youths, giggling and talking to each other. As we walked past them, suddenly one of them turned around and started to make a flying kick to my friend. Noticing the 'fun' he is having, his other friends started to do the same to me. It was so sudden and all I was thinking at the moment was, "What the hell did we do to them?" Both of us ended up kneeling on the ground for a moment before more kicks and punches came flying in. Even though both of us had our tripod strapped across our shoulder, we were too shocked to react to it. Eventually one punch landed right on my right forehead and I started to bleed profusely. Seeing that they eventually stopped and walked away.WALKED AWAY, damn it. They were not even afraid to run but just WALKED AWAY like winning a game or something. The last thing I remember hearing from one of them was "Baliklah ke negara asal" Imagine hearing this statement on Merdeka Eve. I knew I was bleeding but I didnt know how bad. I could feel the right side of my head swollen and wet but I did not try to look at myself through a mirror. My friend also suffered bruises on the body and face. By that time there were more people walking around us but they did not stop to see what was wrong. I don't blame them, it was a poorly lit area just in front of Menara Pinang. We recovered and continued walking towards the Convention Center. The guards were symphatetic to let us in to use the washroom to clean up. It was then I saw my bloody face. I did not take a picture of myself then as it is not my intention to send a horror message. This is not a message of sympathy. It's a account of a random person walking on a street. Eventually after cleaning up, we walked back to the Police Booth in Pavillion to relate the incident. The response from the officer: "This cannot happen, we have all our men on the streets" (Well, not on the street we got beaten up ...) Apparently informing the police booth stationed in a public area is NOT MAKING A POLICE REPORT. WTF? Apparently we have to go to a Hospital, get some treatment and make a complain/report at the police counter there. I would be dead by then, ain't I? Is this how the police maintained that they have improved street crimes? By not noting down petty crimes like gang bang which did not result into hospitalization? Would we be taken seriously if only we landed in the hospital? What we did was, we went back to the office, rested til this morning, went to a nearby clinic to get some bandages and medic. What else to do? I can't identify my assailants, and my wounds are not death-threatening. If I had not wanted to celebrate Independence Day, would I walk or drive to the venue? If I was not thirsty would I stop for 5 mins to get my drink and missed them completely? If I had held my tripod as a defensive weapon earlier, would I save myself or get more beating instead? If I'm not Chinese, would I get the same 'treatment'? All I want to say in the end is ... Forward this to your friends (so that they will be careful on the streets) Forward this to your 'friendly police' (so that they know the procedure is wrong) Forward this to any politician/newspaper (so that he/she can be the champion for highlighting this to the government) Emerald : im not sure if this is a scam or true. But there were pictures taken, which i saw on the net but i cant paste it here for all to see and there was also his HP number, which i didnt display it here as well, i dont think its appropriate. Anyway if its a scam then sorry about it, im just passing the message thru. I may be true as well. Who knows !

who is the automaker of kia cars?

Lexus IS250 '09.. scratches easily?

Does anyone have this car? I have it in the graphite colour, and it seems to be scratching way too easily. It is as if each time I drive it, I find a new scratch somewhere on it. They are pretty noticeable too. I have one other new car, and theres not one scratch on it.. although, it is a kia. Does this have anything to do with the quality of lexus paint?

How can I get rid of 2 cars that I owe more than they are worth?

I have an 04 Susuki Forenza and an 04 Kia Optima, both in good condition that I owe money on. The susuki is financed through a buy here pay here car dealership. The kia was paid off but now has a title loan through American General Financing. I am paying close to $500 per month and neither car is being driven. I owe $1000-$2000 more than what the cars are worth. How would I go about selling, or getting rid of the cars all together without hurting my credit. I understand that I will have to pay some sort of monthly payment if I can't sell them, but it would have to be much less than the $500 I am already paying. We are in Phoenix, AZ if that helps, if you happen to know something locally. Any help would be appreciated, as I have spent countless hours researching on google and have not gotten any conclusive helpful information. Thanks

should we buy a beater car?

My husband and I already have two vehicles, but he has a gmc suburban which guzzles gas and i still owe 3 years on my car and it has 70,000 miles on it. My car is a kia optima and I would like to keep the miles down on it so that I am not paying for repairs while still making a car payment. My husband suggested we buy a honda for about $500 - $800 to keep the miles off my car and save gas money from his. Liability insurance would only be about $20 a month. I have a lot of credit card debt though so I am wondering if I should pay the money on credit cards or buy the car? 22 hours ago - 3 days left to answer. Additional Details as i said before liability insurance would only be about $20 a month. we live on a military base that is 35 miles from town right now, so if we could drive the beater for a while it would save a lot of miles on my car. getting rid of the suburban is not an option my husband has an emotional attachment lol since he is in the military though tags would only be $20 a year. we have AAA insurance so if it broke down we could tow it home for free and my husband would be able to work on an older model honda but not on my car. the suburban gets maybe 13 miles per gallon on the highway so i figured we would save the cost of the car in gas and have the added benefit of saving miles on my car. getting rid of both cars and getting 2 beaters is not a possiblility since we are still paying on the car and it would be unnecessary since i don't drive anywhere except to get groceries lol and our state does not require emissions testing...

Do you think kids who throw eggs at foreign cars should be punished as severely as American cars?

I realize that vandalism is a crime, and I agree it should be punished severely for those who throw eggs at American cars. But as for foreign cars (Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Kia, Hyundai, etc), people who buy them are destroying our country, and THEY need to be accountable for that as well. I realize that some are made here, blah, blah, blah, but bottom line is that the money goes overseas and supports THEIR economy while hurting ours by taking away American car sales. American cars = Ford, GM, or Chrysler. I don't care where the parts are made.
